Healthy, Stress Free Holidays – Tip #10 – Alcohol

It’s that time of the year where, every where we go, we are offered a drink. Don’t stress, enjoy a drink or two. Here are a couple of hints to help with the added calorie intake:

  • Mix with soda water/carbonated water. A nice white wine spritzer is definitely making a come back!
  • Alternate your alcoholic drinks with water – one glass alcohol, one glass water. Easier on the calories and the headache the next morning!
  • Think about what you are eating, while drinking. Do you need the baked potato or rice with your meal? You could exchange it for a glass of wine – and relieve some of that internal stress you are feeling
  • Eggnog one of your favorites? Limit yourself to one and try mixing half eggnog and half skim milk for less calories.
